Painting a Lifetime

My work is the product of passion and determination. Over the years, I have evolved, and so has my art. I am particularly proud of the original styles I developed—Ice Paintings and High Definition Metallics—each refined through years of experimentation. From the steady hand required to produce tight line drawings to the visceral sensation of setting heavy oils with palette knives, my process has always been rooted in discipline and discovery. Whether painting a seaside landscape in a warm breeze or perfecting an icy abstract in swirling snow, I am grateful for the journey.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my art.

Blue Planet

Painting abstracts is a great challenge.  There is no scene or photograph to follow.  The lines, shapes, and colors all require original thought and resolve.  I find these to be some of the most frustrating and also most rewarding pieces to complete.

Ice Painting - Breadbasket

This piece has numerous layers of different types of paint that were applied over a number of weeks. Final layers were painted outdoors in freezing weather (well below 32 degrees Fahrenheit). With great care, the finished canvas is systematically warmed over several weeks. When successful, the process produces bold colors that crack and ultimately dry with a high gloss finish. Rich Earth tones weave among flowing blues and lavish greens throughout the canvas. The piece is emblematic of the natural abundance and prosperity of our planet.
